Commander Patrick Panjeti, a native of Queens, New York, enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1995 and earned his commission in 2003 from Auburn University. As a surface warfare officer, he has served on various combatants in both the Pacific and Atlantic Fleets. On forward-deployed staff, CDR Panjeti served as the Southeast Asia country desk in the N7 Theater Security Cooperation Directorate of the U.S. Seventh Fleet. In this role, his portfolio covered the Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, and Timor-Leste. He held various planning assignments during Operation Tomodachi and was selected to act as commander, Amphibious Task Force, during the Shatrujeet-14 table-top exercise with the Indian Army. Panjeti also served as the future operations officer, exercise planner, and training officer on the staff of Amphibious Squadron One. Following redesignation as a foreign area officer, CDR Panjeti served as the Joint U.S. Military Assistance Group Philippines, Plans and Policy Section chief. He has been the U.S. naval attaché to Indonesia from July 2022 to 2025. Panjeti is a 2016 graduate of the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, where he earned a military master of arts and sciences in strategic studies. His decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal and the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, among others.
